Ans.. Railway Retiring Rooms are accommodation facilities available at selected Railway Stations across India. They are available in Single Bed, Double Bed and Dormitory categories, with AC and Non-AC , subject to availability.
Ans.A Retiring Room/Dormitory can generally be booked for a minimum of 12 hours and a maximum of 48 hours, subject to the applicable booking rules and availability.
Hourly booking is also available at selected stations, subject to the applicable rules.
Ans.The refund depends on when the booking is cancelled in relation to the Check-in Date.
The Check-in Date itself is excluded while calculating the cancellation period.

Suppose your Check-in Date is 20 August.
• Cancellation on 17 August or earlier → 20% will be deducted and 80% will be refunded.
• Cancellation on 18 or 19 August → 50% will be deducted and 50% will be refunded.
• Cancellation on 20 August (Check-in Date) → No refund will be admissible.
1.Passenger-wise cancellation is not permitted. Cancellation can be made only room-wise/bed-wise.
2. If more than one room/dormitory bed is booked and cancellation is made for only some of them, the applicable cancellation rule will be applied to the cancelled room(s)/bed(s).
3. Cancellation after Check-in is not permitted.
Ans.Accommodation will be allocated according to the number of passengers, subject to availability, as follows:

Ans.If a Retiring Room is booked in a single transaction for more than 24 hours using a combination of booking slots, the second slot is treated as an extension of the first slot.
An additional 25% of the tariff of the second/extension slot will be charged.

Ans.Hourly booking is available at select stations, subject to availability and the applicable booking rules.
1. Reservation Period
The Minimum allowed reservation period is 3 hrs and maximum reservation period is 48 hrs, subject to availability.
2. Non- Principal Block
The period from 09:00 hrs to 21:00 hrs is called the Non-Principal Block.
• Booking during this period can be made on an hourly basis.
• The minimum booking period is 3 hours beyond, subject to availability.
3. Principal Block
The period from 21:00 hrs to 09:00 hrs is called the Principal Block.
• The Principal Block generally cannot be booked partially.
• Hourly booking is generally not permitted during this period.
If the requested Check-in is before 21:00 hrs and the requested Check-out is after 21:00 hrs but before 09:00 hrs, the booking will be allowed up to 09:00 hrs.
If the requested Check-in is between 21:00 hrs and 09:00 hrs and the requested Check-out is at or after 09:00 hrs, the booking will be allowed from 21:00 hrs to 09:00 hrs, or beyond 09:00 hrs as applicable.
If the requested Check-in is between 21:00 hrs and 09:00 hrs the requested Check-out is before 09:00 hrs, the booking will be allowed from 21:00 hrs to 09:00 hrs.
If the requested Check-in is before 21:00 hrs and the requested Check-out is after 09:00 hrs, the booking will be allowed for the requested period, subject to availability and applicable booking rules.
Note: -Hourly booking may be allowed in the Principal Block for a room/dormitory if the Principal Block is scheduled to be checked out earlier than its normal scheduled Check-out time, i.e. before 09:00 hrs, as per the applicable booking rules.
4. Tariff calculation
The tariff for hourly booking is calculated as follows, taking the 24-hour tariff as 100:.

Ans.Yes. Retiring Rooms can be booked online through the IRCTC Retiring Room booking facility, subject to availability and applicable booking rules.
Ans.The number of passengers booked in the applicable train ticket/PNR, subject to the applicable Retiring Room accommodation rules.
Ans.No. A Retiring Room cannot be booked against a Wait-listed ticket.
Ans.Yes. A Retiring Room can be booked against an RAC ticket, subject to availability.
Ans.Yes. A Retiring Room can be booked against a Confirmed ticket, subject to availability.
Ans.Booking is permitted up to the applicable Check-in Time, subject to availability and system rules.
Ans.No. Name change is not permitted.
Ans.No. Journey alteration is not permitted for the Retiring Room booking.
Ans.No. An online booking cannot be cancelled through the counter and a counter booking cannot be cancelled online.
Ans.Yes. Cancellation before Check-in is permitted as per the applicable Cancellation Policy.
Ans.No. Cancellation after Check-in is not permitted.
Ans.Yes, subject to the payment options available on the booking system.
Ans.Yes. The customer must carry the original identity proof details were entered at the time of booking.
The identity details must match the original identity proof presented at the time of Check-in.
Ans.The customer must produce:
• Print out of Retiring Room Booking Voucher, and
• Original identity proof with details matching those entered during booking.
Ans.The passenger must be 12 years of age or above to check in to a Retiring Room.
Ans.Online Retiring Room booking is available from 12:30 AM to 11:30 PM, subject to system availability.
Ans.No. Payment alone does not confirm the booking.
The Retiring Room booking is confirmed only when a Retiring Room Reference Number is generated.
Ans.Yes. A valid PNR is mandatory for booking a Retiring Room.
Ans.No. Senior Citizen concession is not available for Retiring Room booking.
Ans.No. Lunch or dinner is not included with the Retiring Room booking.
Ans.If the amount is debited but the Retiring Room booking is not confirmed, the amount will be refunded to the same account, as per the applicable refund process and timelines.

Ans.. If the PRS train ticket/PNR against which the Retiring Room has been booked is completely cancelled, Retiring Room booking will be cancelled within 96 hours of the Check-in Time, per the applicable cancellation rules
